Looks like the the folks at Autodromo have been busy again. A watched based on Vic Elford's 1968 Porsche 907? I'm sure the colour combo is not for everyone, but I think personally this looks quite good. Except the price $775 (yikes!). what do you folks think?

That is a really cool watch and I would definitely wear it. I already have one Autodromo but $775 for a quartz? Yikes indeed!

AUTODROMO Y U CHARGE SO MUCH FOR CHEAP MOVEMENT IN CHEAP CASE???
Really though, the same movement in a 100M 316 SS case can be had for $270.
I don't intend to sound mean, but anyone who buys an Autodromo watch either has 1) money coming out their ass or 2) does not know enough about watches.

That's my thing. I want an Autodromo very much because I like the design, but I can't pony up that kind of coin for what isn't a particularly nice watch.
On the other hand, most "nice" watches I see seem pretty clearly to have been designed by someone with no sense of design whatsoever, so I don't know what I'm supposed to do; why is it that watch quality is inversely correlated with watch design quality? I'm no watchinista, though.

This is priced a few hundred dollars above battery-powered chronographs I think. Maybe the Elford connection is worth a couple hundred bucks but this should ring in around $600 in my opinion.

There used to be a time when these watches were just about $250, but jeez have to started hiking up the prices. cant see myself buying one anytime in the immediate future, look good though.

Oh the looks are spot-on, but the materials hardly justify the price.

You're right. I've heard the same complaint from people who know a thing or two about watches.
Problem is, I dont lol. I came across this post as I was searching for watches.
Can you recommend any automotive-themed or just cool watch/watches, like the one pictured above? Something more reasonable (under $300) would be great.
But tbh, Autodromo does have good designs. I like their new Stradale, but I'm not paying $875 for that lol

Autodromo makes great looking watches, but they're too much money for what they are. Try this link for a few ideas .
